Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel lead the Oscar nomiations

Oscar nominations

As much as I love the award season, it all comes down to the Oscars. The films leading the way are not your average mainstream films. The first is Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel and the other is Birdman.

The Brits are doing well with two leading actors and actresses in Eddie Redmayne, for The Theory for Everything, Benedct Cumberbatch for The Imitation Game, Felicity Jones for The Theory of Everything and Rosamund Pike for Gone Girl. Keira Knightley also got a nomination for her supporting role in The Imitation Game, but she is up against the most nominated/winning actress of them all – Meryl Streep for her fantastic role as the witch in Into the Woods.
