Today I went to the Postman Pat The Movie film premiere for work. Not a bad days work. We were hanging out with Postman Pat and the cast of the film including Stephen Mangan (Episodes) who voices Pat, singer Ronan Keating who provides Pat’s singing voice and Rupert Grint (Harry Potter).
I also got to meet Britain’s Got Talent’s most famous dog Pudsey (who also has a film coming out in the summer) and give him a tickle behind the ear. He is one cute dog!
The film is Postman Pat’s first outing on the big screen, and he also steps into the world of CGI for the occasion. The film follows Pat on a journey through a talent competition to win a trip to Italy for his wife, while an evil man at the Special Delivery Service tries to replace Pat with robots. As well as providing Pat’s singing voice, Ronan also cameos in the movie as himself, apparently being the first pop star to be animated as himself in a movie. Rupert Grint also sings in the film, he’s not bad, perhaps he may turn to a singing career himself.
The crowd loved the film, with lots of laugh out loud moments, and the songs are pretty catchy too. This film isn’t just for the kids, but the whole family.
You can spot a few of us in this news report from the Press Association.
Postman Pat The Movie is in cinemas nationwide from 23 May.
