The Hobbit Desolation of Smaug

Legolas is back!!!! Last night I went to see The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug in 3D. For a sci-fi fan I shock a lot of people when I say that I didn’t really love the Lord of the Rings films. The first one – great. Second. We’ll I got bored half way through so making it onto the third was difficult. I’ve tried a few times to work my way through the trilogy and failed miserably.

I did however enjoy the first Hobbit film so when my friend offered me a ticket to a screening she had won tickets for, I jumped at the chance to see it. Especially as the second outing in this series has Orlando Bloom back with is blonde hair and blue eyes as Legolas – I don’t know why I like him like that, but there is something about Orlando Bloom as a blonde!

The film was in 3D and this was certainly a film made for 3D. I often say that 3D films disappoint me at the cinema, the Marvel films have been culprits of that. But Desolation of Smaug was incredible. Giant spiders coming at me certainly made me scream out loud in the screening room (I’ve never done that before). And I found myself ducking several times and I’m sure if you had a camera on my face you would have caught quite a few weird expressions!

But not only the 3D, the film is really good. The special effects are great, the humour is good and the action incredible. If you haven’t seen this yet I recommend a 3D viewing.
