I stumbled across The To Do List and seeing the great cast list – Aubrey Plaza (Safety Not Guaranteed, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World), Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live, Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights, Hart of Dixie), Rachel Bilson (The O.C., Hart of Dixie), Adam Samberg (Saturday Night Live, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Kick-Ass, Superbad) and probably the best of all Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights, Nashville) and Clark Gregg (Avengers, Much Ado About Nothing) as the parents.
So perhaps I should tell you what this is actually about. It follows Brandy Clark (Plaza) who is about to head off to college and following a conversation with her sister (Bilson) and a crush on lifeguard hottie Rusty Waters (Porter) she decides she needs to change her college to-do list to a list of sexual accomplishments she needs to make before embarking on a home run with Rusty.
This film is the new American Pie, but seems to have gone by unnoticed. Clark Gregg plays the brilliant father of the teenager who is convinced his wife lost her virginity to him in college. Connie Britton plays his wife who give her girls the sex talk with a tube of lube. They both give the best performances in this film. Not quite as out there as Jim’s dad in American Pie but perfectly subtle to all of the craziness that is going on in the film.
